The Teach Act
The Teach Act (2002) provides teachers with a separate set of rights in addition to Fair Use. The main purpose of this act was to address the issue of distance learning. The Fair Use Act, as it was written, only allowed for use of copyrighted material in face to face instruction. The Teach Act expands the rights of educators to include presenting copyrighted material to students taking part in distance education as well as face to face interactions.
